Our clear aligners are custom-made to fit your smile snugly and comfortably. They’re practically invisible, meaning you can smile, laugh and speak with confidence – yet are able to quickly and easily remove the aligners for eating, drinking and brushing.

All of our clear aligner packages start with a comprehensive oral health review and check-up, where we’ll carry out a quick and painless digital smile scan using our state-of-the-art iTero scanner.

We’ll use this scan to create a comprehensive, personalised treatment plan – including a 3D demonstration, which your treating dentist will walk you through step by step. We’ll map out the entire journey of your teeth straightening process, allowing you to see the transformation from start to finish before you commit to go ahead.

Throughout your treatment, you’ll receive a new set of clear aligners every 2-3 weeks. Each one follows a set sequence, making incremental changes to your smile and over time, bringing you closer to that perfect smile. Your treating dentist will be with you every step of the way, with in-studio and virtual consults to ensure everything progresses smoothly and answering any questions you might have.

How Invisalign works

Step 1 – Welcome to Pear Dental!

Your smile journey begins with a comprehensive oral health review at our calm and relaxing studio in Bank.

After a check-up we’ll take a quick and painless scan of your smile using our iTero digital scanner, and in just a few minutes we’ll have built an accurate 3D model of your current smile.

Step 2 – Treatment plan & 3D Walkthrough

We’ll use the 3D model to create a step-by-step smile transformation plan, a sneak preview of how the aligners will move your teeth into their corrected positions.

Once you’re happy, we’ll sign off on the treatment plan and send your plan off to our lab so that the clear aligners can be 3D-printed.

Step 3 – First aligner fit

A few weeks later your clear aligners will be ready for fitting. We’ll invite you back into the studio so your dentist can show you how to fit, remove, clean and care for your aligners between use.

Most treatment plans involve around 20 sets of aligners. Each is usually worn for 10-14 days over a 30-40 week treatment plan cycle.

Step 4 – During the treatment

You’ll start to see and feel the difference within a week or two.

We’ll invite you back in during the alignment treatment to make sure everything is working well for you.

During this time, as ever, we’re only a WhatsApp message away.

Step 5 – treatment completed!

Congratulations! After completing your aligner course your smile will be beautifully transformed. We think you’ll love your new smile.

We’ll schedule a final studio visit to make sure everything is perfect and to provide you with custom night-time retainers which will help maintain your stunning new smile.

Before your first visit

Before your first visit to Pear Dental, you will be invited to have a short virtual consult with one of our team so that we can build an understanding of your smile objectives, motivations and goals.

We’ll also ask you to complete a short online medical & dental history questionnaire. This will help your treating dentist to understand any allergies, previous and current medical conditions and so on.

What are clear aligners?

Clear aligners are a modern, near-invisible way to straighten your teeth. Custom-made from smooth, comfortable plastic, they fit snugly over your teeth and gently shift them into place over time. No metal brackets or wires—just a clear path to a perfect smile!

What's the difference between clear aligners and Invisalign?

Invisalign have been the market leading clear aligner brand for decades.

Our alternate clear aligner options offer a high-quality alternative to Invisalign. Where we offer alternatives to Invisalign, we expect the results to be comparable.

How do clear aligners work?

You’ll receive a series of aligners, each slightly different, that you’ll wear for about two weeks each. These aligners gradually move your teeth into their ideal positions. Most treatments include around 20 aligners worn over 40 weeks, but this can vary based on your specific needs.

Are clear aligners invisible?

Clear aligners are designed to be nearly invisible, so most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them. They’re a fantastic option if you want a discreet way to improve your smile.

Can I eat and drink while wearing my aligners?

It’s best to remove your aligners when eating and drinking anything other than water. This helps keep them clean and stain-free. Plus, it allows you to enjoy all your favourite foods without any restrictions!

How do I clean my aligners?

Cleaning your aligners is simple. Just brush them gently with a toothbrush and rinse them with lukewarm water. Avoid using hot water as it can warp the plastic.

Will the aligners impact my speech?

You might notice a slight change in your speech when you first start wearing them, but this usually goes away within a few days as you get used to them.

How often will I need to visit the studio during treatment?

You’ll have check-ups every 6-8 weeks so we can monitor your progress and give you the next sets of aligners. These visits are quick and easy!

What happens at the end of my aligner treatment?

Once you’ve completed your aligner treatment, we’ll provide you with retainers to help maintain your new, perfect smile. Retainers are just as discreet and are typically worn at night.

Can clear aligners be used to treat complex orthodontic cases?

Clear aligners are designed primarily to address mild to moderate orthodontic issues, particularly focusing on the anterior (front-view) smile. While they are effective for straightening front teeth and improving the appearance of your smile, they may not be the best option for more complex orthodontic cases.

What are 'complex orthodontic cases'?

Complex orthodontic cases often involve significant misalignment, severe crowding, large gaps, or issues with the bite (malocclusion). These cases usually require comprehensive treatment that addresses the alignment of all of your teeth, rather than focusing just the smile / front teeth.

When are traditional 'fixed' braces a better option?

Traditional metal braces, also known as train track braces, are often recommended for full-mouth orthodontic cases. They provide the control and precision needed to treat severe misalignments, correct bite issues, and ensure that all teeth, including the molars and premolars, are properly aligned. Metal braces are fixed to the teeth and allow for more complex movements that clear aligners might not achieve.

How do I know whether I need clear aligners or fixed braces?

The best way to determine the right treatment for your orthodontic needs is to come in for a consult.

However, please remember that this is a clinical procedure and that, in some cases, there may be additional preventative or restorative treatments that are required before we can commence the treatment.
